Whitefish distribution in Swedish Matkakoski

Whitefish distribution can be seen at the Swedish side of Matkakoski. During the late-summer shift dipnetting period, approximately from early August to mid-September, the daily catch of whitefish is divided among the shareholder farms according to an ancient system. The distribution takes place next to Ida’s Café by the rapids, at the change of the dipnetting shift at six o’clock Swedish time (seven o’clock Finnish time) in the evening.
